The "Thank You Show" was originally conceived as a way for Portugal. The Man to express gratitude to the supporters of their band over the past year, it was not meant to be a show or a cohesive thought. In fact it was meant to be John Baldwin Gourley using a sharpie and drawing on the band's promotional posters, and sending them to press, radio and retail supports as a 'thank you'. One idea leads to another and things spiral to a more grand level, as they often do with this Alaskan (John thinks on a much bigger scale then most of us, perhaps it is because of his home state?) The first series of paintings disappeared one night after a show, leaving John not alternative but to improve upon them. In the end the viewer gets the reward. None of these paintings are for sale as all of them are gifts to the band's supporters. Each painting is 12 inches by 16 inches.
