This was a popular request so we are launching it today in our store. 5 copies of the new CD The Satanic Satanist for the low price of $35. Many of you had mentioned that you would give them as gifts to your friends or maybe friends are used to sharing CDs. Here is simple way to get a heavy discount and still support the music.
I have a proposition for you guys. I buy the 5 copies but you have to take care of the delivery cause I live in Bs As, Argentina and “the company” can’t send it. Would you?
Andrés Marafioti//07.09.2009
Dang thats crazy cheap, you guys are the shit for giving away that many cds. I am truely happy for the bands success and i cant wait to see all of yall booking stadiums In San Antonio,Tx. and when should i get my free download for the pre-order
Gangsta Roy
Gangsta Roy//07.10.2009
honestly i think what you guys wrote about downloading and how it affects your life was just a skimic to get more money. after reading your entry i lost interest in your band. I dont think that making people feel sorry for you guys is the right approach to make people buy your album. After you guys posted that entry your pre order sales went up and thats what you guys wanted. and so now you guys are putting more things up for sale, like the 5 cd bundle. if you guys were really into making music for the love of it you guys would not have posted that. srry i had to say all that but as long time P.TM fan i thought should let you guys know.
kool aid//07.11.2009
Wow kool aid, you completely missed the point. I think that it’s a great idea. Next you should sell themin cases of 20 at BJs.
Jared Marshall//07.12.2009
@kool aid: you’re dumb. that’s all i have to say.
Nick//07.12.2009
True. The point was lost and I will just accept the way you feel. We would like to do something bigger, yes. We would like to SELL records, yes. We are offering a deal that virtually cuts all profit out of a relatively expensive package, yup.
In the end, we just want people to have the music. I just wanted to let you in on how we live. It is not an exaggeration and it is not a situation shared by us alone. It has been lived by many artists.
Look at it this way. I come into your place of work, a place (corporate or not) that takes some sort of money to run and I take things from the shelf. You, you understand that I really just don’t have the money and you let me do this. You allow more and more people to come in and do the same until it gets to the point where your company is basically handing out a product at a cost to the but at zero cost to the consumer… Ha… you know what? It is simple and it relates to ALL things. I was just as equally promoting Fever Ray, Black Moth Super Rainbow, The Builders and the Butchers, TV on the Radio, Menomena… and so on and so on. These are bands that I want to hear progress and grow and continue to make music. I am only asking that we all live by the same morals that we do in our daily lives. What makes music any different? True. Their is a percentage of artists that have made more than their fair share and that may seem hard for all of us to understand. In the end, do they deserve to be stolen from? Well… maybe… You know what, I leave it for you to decide. We offer packages like this for the sake of YOU all having access to our music and the option to share it and own something physical. A chance to be a part of this. Shows do not always pay by the ticket you buy. It is more often than not a capped guarantee as an opener and even as a headliner. As frustrating as it is to read and to hear and to know, these guarantees are often set based on record sales. Publishing companies don’t look at this…. sorry. again… point lost.
Just know that we love doing this and the support shown through twitter and on our blogs has been amazing. Thank you all for understanding.
Love
John B. Gourley//07.12.2009
stupid reaction of kool aid. great response of John.
we all need physicall media. downloading cannot bring the same satisfaction than a record you can touch and feel.
the good thing is that more and more of my friends stop downloading and start buying vinyl…
lets hope this trend continues.
ps: great show yesterday at La-Pampa-festival, wet and dirty…thats how I like it most
but I was a bit disappointed that you did not play an extra-song… but I know this is how a festival-gig works….you always have to be on time, rigtht…
Tom from Germany
Tom Petzold//07.12.2009
Yeah, Kool Aid, you’re right, supporting the band is bullshit.. (Sarcasm).. These guys make great music for us, and only ask that in return (IF YOU CAN) that you help support them. There is NOTHING wrong with that in my opinion. This obviously wasn’t a gimick, and you’re immature for thinking it was.. sorry, but for all that P.TM does for us, they don’t deserve to have a jerk like you that calls himself a “Fan” accuse them of using a gimick to make money.. Sorry, but that was such an ignorant statement.
Cal//07.12.2009
John your response was over some ppl’s head I suppose.
I thought you made a great point! If you love something you give it all of your support and try to help it grow to its full potential. You guys are not trying to nickle and dime your fans at all. You guys could soooo easily sell out its crazy. John your voice would work great in one of those scream-O bands or something of the sort and you guys could be writing sappy songs you know would be popular for all the wrong reasons. I think you guys are doing it the right way…the MUSICIAN’S way!
With much love and admiration,
Cincy
Cincinnati Loves Portugal//07.13.2009
Post Script for Kool Aid:
By di wayyyy Kool Aid….if Portugal was “ripping their fans off” sooo bad then why is the band, (after touring for three years straight and pumping albums out like its no one’s business) still sleeping on the floor sometimes after they play a show? And why are they traveling the country in a van instead of a huge ginormous tour bus?
Did you even think at all before you made that statement….the obvious answer….NO you did not!
If you were only trying to be a smartass and attempting to illicit a response from the band MISSION ACCOMPLISHED….you are now a Doucher congradulations! YAYAYAYAY
Lets hear it for Kool Aid and his boundless insight everyone!
*Hold for applause*

You guys should make a music video for Guns and Dogs…Dress up in some sweet suits from the 70’s and strut down the street…maybe breakdancing too.
matthew//07.14.2009
John… you “Tweet” way too much; I must have gotten twenty mobile alerts this morning while sleeping! Anyway, can’t believe you guys have the record up on MySpace… I almost gave in and listened. Seven more days to go.
Kee//07.14.2009
Hey Andres
Merchnow said they could not ship to Argentina? Or did they say it costs a crazy amount to ship there?
portugaltheman//07.14.2009

portugaltheman//07.15.2009

We have been announcing the winner’s weekly, but I guess it is not “announcing”. Someone in the band has been calling the weekly winner. We have not been making it public
portugaltheman//07.16.2009
I’m sorry, but does anyone happen to know when the “Do You” music video will be released? -Many Thanks..
Cal//07.16.2009

trex//07.17.2009
I’ve always wanted to let you guys know that all of us really appreciate how much you spoil the fans. You are leaps and bounds more respectable than bands like The Mars Volta who kick tons of ass but completely disrespect everyone who appreciates them most.
Also….
Neeeeeeed some LA dates. I saw you guys four times in 2008 and have seen you zero times in 2009.
Jack G//07.17.2009
Aw, what did the lucky winners get?

Hey guys I’m seeing some acoustic videos leaking on YouTube, they’re just a picture and the audio from The Majestic Majesty album, and I refuse to listen to them because that would just ruin it for me honestly lol.
I haven’t yet recieved my copy…
does it come through e-mail or do we get a token or something like that when we get the CD?…I pre-ordered the bundle of SS&MM btw.
Just wondering, and in need of some clarification.
Thanks in advance if you find the time to answer.
Andrew//07.17.2009
Just came home from a 12 hour shift to discover the package waiting at my doorstep!! So excited to spin the record. This really makes my day!
Cannot wait to see you guys at the NY shows in August.

kee//07.17.2009
p.s. I can’t seem to figure out how to refold the cd packaging back. Long day.

Cincinnati Loves Portugal//07.18.2009

:syas//07.18.2009
Just got my Vinyl of Satanic Satanist in the mail. I fucking love it. Thank you for the album guys.
Tyler Hink//07.18.2009
I am a music collector in a big way. I got started about 13 years ago, because it kept me up at night knowing that there was a band out there that was uniquely me — like those poor hopeless romantics who spend their lives thinking they’ll never be happy until they find “the one.” When I stumbled upon “Waiter: You Vultures!” I sensed something was definitely up, and with each passing year and new album, your sound has evolved and matured. You kept me alive on some numbing, uncomfortable nights in the Marine Corps and make my road trips go by smoothly. From what I’ve heard of your latest album, you’ve gone from one of my favorite bands to my absolute favorite band. I tell everybody I know about you and they all think highly of your music as well.
You guys are like a silent revolution in music. Here’s to this album possibly making that revolution a little louder. Cheers.
Karim//07.18.2009
I got my copy of the CD in the mail. and my shirt. Way happy!
Eraq Gerhardt//07.18.2009
I too got my cd and shirt early. I have been listening to it non stop. TSS is like warm butter melting on hot toast… delicious.
p.s. I loooove zoe’s vocals on the album, significantly more than on colors. Overall it’s just amazing now only if you could stop by south florida…. much love to all of you!
hmmmm...//07.19.2009
Got my pre-oder on the 18th, and I must say the album is truly amazing. My favorites are Lovers in Love, Everyone is Golden and Mornings, but the whole record is a masterpiece. The packaging is also spectacular and makes me glad I didn’t cave in and pirated your music. And the included T-shirt is really cool, I’ll make sure to wear it as much as possible.
I hope you tour the US soon so I can see these songs performed in person. Much love from Arizona
-Mike

just recieved the album..
its brilliant and the artwork is awesome. just like expected.
the majestic majesty is brilliant, too. it shows again, how beatifull your life-qualities are.
its so stripped down and still so good. lots of other bands only sound good with heaps of synthesisers and all that stuff.
rock-greatness!!
Michael Burk//07.20.2009
Just got my preorder of SS in the mail today and loving it already. Keep up the great work guys. I hope I get to see you guys at Lolla this year if not I’m definitely going to make it out to your Chicago shows.
Joe Lynch//07.20.2009
Just received Satanic Satanist. As anticipated…perfection. The shirt, clear vinyl, & CD foldout, PLUS acoustic songs…couldn’t get better than that. (Wish I had the poster, though…)
Thanks to the whole band for the work you’ve put into your albums. You’ve really made a significant impact on the experience of music in my life. Never have I awaited the arrival of an album so much, nor have been so impressed by the whole package of music, lyrics, artwork, and meaning within an artist. Your efforts are much appreciated, and I’m waiting for you to come to a city near me so that you can be my first real concert. (I always assume I wouldn’t like concerts, even though I’ve had tons of opportunities and love the adventure of discovering new , unique music. However, for you guys, I would make an exception…which holds great value in my book.) Since your first album, your music has since matured in my eyes (or ears?), and I respect you all for it. Karim was right…you’re a silent revolution in music, and by what I’ve noticed, your fans definitely acknowledge it. Once again, much gratitude.
